girls trip- orlando

Ever wanted to take a girls trip but didn’t know where to go? Maybe you wanted to go away someplace fun but not too far. When people plan trips to Florida they typically think of South Beach. At least that’s what I thought! I have 2 sisters and the three of us together with our mom decided to take a girls trip down to Orlando. No, it’s not just for kids! We left our husbands behind to take a nice relaxing getaway with each other to reconnect and bond. We haven’t done this since we all got married. It’s so important to nurture your relationships with your siblings and parents as you get older. Orlando had everything we wanted to have an amazing getaway and not to mention the weather was absolutely perfect. It’s definitely a great vacation destination!

Accommodations

We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas Orlando. We booked a 2 bedroom villa equipped with a full kitchen, living room, two bathrooms, screened in terrace, and washer/dryer. It was our home away from home for a week! Having a kitchen allowed us to cook some of our meals which saved us money. We were beyond happy with the villa. It was beautiful, clean, and the customer service was excellent.

The property has seven pools, several restaurants and bars spread out across the resort. They had a gym that offered fresh towels, water, and free headphones. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The Spa

The spa is a must do at any girls trip lol. We all wanted to feel pampered and have a truly relaxing day. We chose The Spa at the Grove Resort. They offered treatments with complimentary all day access to the lounge, sauna, pool and hot tub. Snacks, cucumber water, and coffee/tea was also complimentary. I love a good day spa where I can get more than just the massage. Being able to use the amenities was a huge plus. The massages were excellent! We all thoroughly enjoyed them. Afterwards we put on our swimsuits to relax in the hot tub then jumped into the 6ft pool! I swear, my sisters and I could not get out of the water! We had so much fun .

Dining

There were many restaurants near the hotel. Although we had a full kitchen, we did go out some nights for dinner. Being a vegetarian did not limit me at all in terms of restaurant choices. We went to Flavors of India. This was so delicious. Seriously authentic Indian cuisine. We left happy and full! Another restaurant we loved was Thai Thani. This restaurant took us to Thailand. The beautiful decor and intricate details made us feel as if we were transported to another county! Definitely worth the visit. The resort also had 4 restaurants onsite for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We enjoyed cocktails poolside at the Mai Tiki Bar and Grill during the day. One night for dinner we ate at Zimmie’s which offered a full American menu.

Seaworld

Seaworld is not just for kids! We had a blast looking at the live flamingos, penguins, dolphins, and shows. We walked around for hours but didn’t even feel like we were! The weather was perfect and we just enjoyed what the park had to offer and each other’s company!

Just For Fun

The resort grounds were so beautiful that we decided to do a full on photo shoot! Lol. We had sooo much fun on the playground and the footbridge taking photos and laughing the entire time. It really dosen’t matter what you do, as long as you do it together. We had the best time having girl talk, joking and laughing the entire time. Even after you create a family of your own, you gotta make time for your girls, your fam!
