Best Things to Do in the poconos in the fall

My husband I sometimes want to have a quick getaway, somewhere local, not too far. The Poconos is a great option for us because it is driving distance and we always have a great time when we go. It’s perfect for a long weekend and it is beautiful in the fall season. We are sharing our top 4 things to do on our weekend getaway to the Poconos.

1. Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze

This is by far my favorite thing to do in the fall. I absolutely love everything pumpkin and look forward to it every year! We went to Mazeilla and they have the best farm. They have acres and acres of growing pumpkins and we got to walk the fields and pick our own.

They have a huge corn maze onsite. They make it fun by turning it into a scavenger hunt. The theme when we went was Pennsylvania wildlife and they change the themes every so often. You walk around with a picture card and hole punch them as you find the paper board with each animal throughout the maze. We only got 5 out of 11 but it was still fun!

2. Reaper’s Revenge

Another great fall activity is going to a haunted attraction! Reaper’s Revenge is about an hour outside of the Poconos and totally worth the drive! This place is so amazing and you are truly in for a scary thrill. You take a haunted hayride- and I mean a real ride on the back of a trailer with real hay lol- and you ride into the woods as various spooky people walk up and into the ride. Off the ride, there are four haunted attractions that you walk through. But this no regular haunted house. These are straight out of your favorite scary movie set!!! No photography was allowed inside the attraction but all I can say is that is absolutely the best one out here on the east coast! It’s a must try.

3. Indian Museum

The Pocono Indian Museum is cute little attraction that tells of the history of the Lenape Indians who once lived in the Poconos area. It was very enlightening and we learned of things that we did not know before. It was a very good cultural experience that all Pocono lovers should see. We saw how arrowheads were made, what they used to make clothing back then, their living conditions, and how they got killed and driven out of their land by the Europeans. We even learned of the tale of bigfoot. They have a souvenir shop filled with books, dreamcatchers, and Uggs (yes real uggs lol).

4. Chill Out Pool Day

It’s not a vacation to us without a straight up chill day next to some water! Mt. Airy Lodge and Casino has a gorgeous indoor/outdoor pool with day beds, cocktails, and lunch. It was nice enough for us to chill outside so it was amazing. On colder days the inside is completely heated to about 80 degrees and the water is always warm -year round. We absolutely love coming here when we visit the Pocono mountains.
