When Timing Is Everything

Many of us have had our whole future planned out way before it can happen. Then as we got older, things either started to fall apart or for some only go slightly according to plan. But remember that there is ‘your plan’ and ‘God’s plan’. I often struggle with that. I always have a plan for something and then I get hit with a curveball reminding me that the ball was never in my court in the first place. It’s a reminder to trust God.

Maybe you’re not where you want to be in life. You feel like you should be doing more, making more money, starting your degree, have a family, or bought a house by now. No matter where you think you should be, you are exactly where God wants you to be. I used to envision that by 30 I would be married with a couple kids, a house, dream car, a puppy, and a rocking career. Life didn’t quite go that way lol. I’m 33, on my second marriage, no kids, and the career I worked so hard for feels unfulfilling. But you have to remind yourself that everything comes in due time.

God knows what is best for you and if he gives you certain things before you’re ready, you may not be in a space to receive them. In all seriousness, there may be something greater in store or maybe God wants you to accomplish some things first before your blessings. Even when you feel like you are at your lowest, there’s a plan for you and you have to trust that process.

This goes for so much in life. That promotion, that raise, the house, the car, the baby, the ring, that business, the degree, that license, that bill of health- God got you. This is a reminder to get on your knees. Pray and trust. Don’t compare yourself to the next guy or girl. Keep on going, your blessing is coming…. and it will arrive just in time!

“ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:11-12
